Lilly completes acquisition of AtaiBeckley to advance therapies for treatment-resistant depression and other mental health conditions
, /PRNewswire/ -- Eli Lilly and Company (NYSE: LLY) today announced the successful completion of its acquisition of AtaiBeckley Inc. AtaiBeckley is a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company developing rapid-acting neuroplastogens for mental health conditions, including BPL-003, its lead investigational program for treatment-resistant depression.
"Treatment-resistant depression persists even after multiple treatment attempts, leaving millions of people still searching for relief," said Carole Ho, Lilly executive vice president and president, Lilly Neuroscience. "AtaiBeckley's neuroplastogens have the potential to open a new paradigm of treatment, with rapid-acting therapeutics designed to move away from chronic dosing. The transaction was approved by AtaiBeckley shareholders at a special meeting held prior to closing.
